Who are we?

Volmary Ltd is the UK operation of the European Volmary family of businesses. Our business is almost 100 years old and in total our group employees total over 1500 people, of which 180 work in our Cambridgeshire nursery.



What do we do?

We are focused on serving UK based growers and distributors with high quality young plants and providing high quality service levels in a friendly and professional manner using sustainable practices throughout our businesses and providing best value in an extremely wide range of products.We excel in both the breeding and sourcing of the best ornamental and edible plants produced from cuttings, tissue culture and seeds. Where we see scope for improvement, our own breeders work in a focused manner to plug that gap for our customers and partners with improving quality products.

How we do it?

We employ both traditional and modern methods of propagation to produce our plants and seeds. Our greenhouses and equipment is state of the art, computerised and efficient. Every week our teams plan and grow millions of plants using cuttings, seeds and tissue culture systems to grow new and healthy young plants . Our IT systems enable our family members to plan planes and trucks across the world every week to deliver the many millions of plants to our local customers in an environmentally efficient and fast way.

Where do we work from?

Our group is made up of specialised local propagation and distribution facilities. We are internationally based with mother plant nurseries and centralised production facilities, many specialising in specific crops for distribution among our group. Our highly trained plant production experts are located at these sites to ensure our products meet the criteria desired by our worldwide customers. Our offer is comprehensive in scope and high in quality thanks to specialised operations and international supply chain, while local and personal in feel with locally based dedicated sales, administration and technical managers.

Why do we do it?

Our aim is to grow and nurture long term relationships with customers, employees, the local community and suppliers for mutual benefit and for the well being and joy of gardening consumers and organisations providing green spaces. With almost 100 years of service history, the principal has proven footings and every new plant we create brings joy to someone, somewhere. That makes us feel good.
