FAQ - Your Order Process

Q Do you have a minimum order value?

A Our minimum order value is £500 per delivery.


Q Can I order colour labels with for my plug plants?

A You can order Premium and XXL colour labels with plant care instructions for all our plants, except for seed raised bedding plants.


Q Do you charge for delivery?

A We charge £50 per consignment. It is £60 per consignment to the North England Southwest England and Scotland. Please call us for delivery charges to the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands.


Q Can I open a credit account with Volmary?

A Yes simply contact our office and ask for a credit application form, complete, and return this to us at accounts@volmary.com. Once our credit checks are complete, we will write to you and let you know your account is open. The first delivery is always conducted on a pro forma basis, thereafter 28 days credit applies from the date of invoice.


Q How will I receive my plants?

A Your plants will be shipped in full trays which are recyclable but not returnable. Plug sizes and the tray counts can be found on our website www.volmary.com


Q Can you provide technical help for the plants I want to grow?

A Volmary can provide technical growth sheets for many of the products we offer. Our area sales managers are all experienced professional Horticulturists with many years of grower experience.

Q Do you produce a catalogue and order forms?

A We produce several catalogues & order forms to aid your production planning and plant ordering, they are available both digitally and as hard copies. Just contact our sales office if you wish to receive them, Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm on 01945 419100, or email us at sales@volmary.com


Q Does Volmary sendout a weekly availability list?

A Weemail a weekly availability list of our plant surpluses every Friday. Just contact our sales office if you would like to receive this, Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm on 01945 419100, or email us at sales@volmary.com


Q Do you only sell plugs, or can I buy my seeds from you as well?

A Yes, we sell seeds as well as plugs. Contact our sales team for a full price list and availability when needed. Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm on 01945 419100, or email us at sales@volmary.com


Q Are all my plugs going to be produced here in the UK?

A More than 80% of our products are grown in our UK nursery in Wisbech St Mary. Some of our lines are sent to us from our Nurseries in Germany. This will be made clear upon order, and the quality is checked before we despatch them to you once received at our UK nursery.


Q Do you sell unrooted cuttings?

A Yes, all our mother plants are cared for and nurtured in our nurseries in Kenya and Türkiye. Once prepared and sent to us, the cuttings are checked and despatched to you within 12 hours of receiving at our UK nursery.


Q Do you deliver on your own transport?

A We care passionately about our plants, so the vast majority of our deliveries are made using our own modern transport fleet. All our lorries have tail lifts, so trolleys are loaded and off loaded without the need for a forklift. Sometimes we use Pallet line and Courier services for smaller deliveries to outlying areas.


Q Do you deliver on CC trolleys?

A For speed and convenience, we deliver on tagged CC trolleys and expect trollies to be exchanged at point of delivery.


Q How will I know which day my delivery is coming?

A We email our customers in advance of all deliveries stating the planned day of delivery. Due to the distances, we travel and variable road conditions, we are unable to state specific delivery times.


Q Do you deliver to Ireland?

A We deliver to the South of Ireland, but unfortunately cannot offer a delivery service to Northern Ireland.


Q Can I collect my plants?

A No we do not allow customers to collect plants. We operate a high hygiene policy and restrict access to the nursery.


Q Where can I see Volmary’s new plant breeding and assess the products you offer?

A Volmary have a spectacular Garden Trial Event every August at our trials and breeding centre at Kaldenhof, Munster, Germany. We welcome all our customers to visit an explorer the exciting possibilities of the plants that we have to offer. You can find further details on our website www.volmary.com


Q Do you attend any trade shows?

A Volmary exhibit and attend horticultural trade shows throughout Europe, including the International Flower Trials held in the Netherlands every June. We also attend the National Plant Show and Southwest Growers Show in the UK.


Q How early should I order?

A We only grow our plants to order, so we advise our customers to order early to avoid disappointment. For spring / summer deliveries you should order in late summer or early autumn. For autumn / winter deliveries order in early spring.


Q What payment methods do you accept?

A We accept payments via electronic bank transfer, or over the phone by card.


Q Are you using peat free growing media when producing your plugs?

A Whilst our industry is still working on the ins and outs of peat free growing. We just like many others are trialling peat free growing on many of our varieties. Some are already completely peat free after the successes we have had, and others are still in their testing phase. Everything else is still grown in peat reduced growing media.
